Comma, a few weeks before the end of our second season in the Champ we were about tenth on the table and had to rely on other results to even get into the top six.
We were lucky that a number of results - some of them unexpected - went our way.
There's a huge amount of selective memory around Pardew's tenure here.

How was promotion lucky?
He took us to consecutive play-offs and was successful in the second one. We then went on t finish mid table and reached the FA cup final.

vexed....promotion was lucky and one good season when we came up, that aside his football was shocking, imo up there with the shite we've got now, i dont want him near the club again

The trick is to get rid of Pardew before he fails, best immediately after his "success". We waited for a bad eight game run and a real threat of relegation before we got rid of him.
Judging from his interview last night Pardew looks ready for being "replaced".

Shows how desperate Newcastle are to be sounding our Bruce.
There is one thing for sure though and it's that Bruce has previous in cutting and running.
Perhaps if Hull and Newcastle do a manager swap [ if the head but can be forgotten ] it would add some spice.

Surely they were good buys for us as they performed well and allowed the club to have some mildly successful times, and we managed to sell them on and make a profit?
Ashton injury prone? Possibly. But the injury that ruined his career and forced him to retire was not at all caused by injury proneness.
Cole went on to win eight England caps and whilst people try to deny it he was much loved by the fans during the Zola years. Rumours were abound that Liverpool were after him at his peak (wiki suggests a 20 million pound bid was lined up).

Steve fucking Bruce? Has had one good season at Hull and that is pretty much the pinnacle of his career. Apart fro that his CV reads like a list of failures. We can do far better.
Saying that he's still a better option than Sam.
